The Abrahamic Family House is a landmark cultural and religious complex located on Saadiyat Island, Abu Dhabi. Designed by Adjaye Associates, the project brings together a mosque, synagogue and church within a shared campus dedicated to dialogue, understanding and peaceful coexistence between faiths, cultures and communities.
As Head of Technical Design and Project Management at Adjaye Associates, Nick Hancock acted as LDC Lead and Technical Lead for the project, overseeing the coordination, technical development and delivery of one of the practice’s most significant international commissions.
Working directly with client representatives, consultants, contractors and the wider architectural team, he was responsible for establishing project procedures, leading multidisciplinary coordination, managing consultant appointments, negotiating contracts and fees, directing QA/QC processes and maintaining technical alignment throughout the delivery programme.
The project required the integration of complex architectural, structural and environmental systems across three distinct houses of worship while preserving the clarity and integrity of the original design vision. Through rigorous coordination and technical leadership, the project was successfully delivered as an internationally recognised symbol of tolerance, coexistence and shared cultural heritage.
